Mums and dads across the African nation have named their infants after Barack Obama and his wife in the hope they adopt the President-elect's characteristics.Mr Obama's father was born in the country and thousands of Kenyans celebrated his groundbreaking election win on Tuesday.
And now several parents have taken it a step further.
At least eight boys have been named Barack or Obama - or both - at the New Nyanza provincial general hospital in Kisumu, the capital of the region which is home to Barack Obama's ancestral village, while dozens more have been given the name across the land.
One mum even dubbed her newborn twins Obama and Michelle.
