Ugandans were more than shocked yesterday when it was reported that one David Kikaawa had murdered his 29-year-old wife of Rwandese origin Linah Keza in cold blood and later committed suicide.
Earlier reports had insinuated that Kikaawa had attempted to commit suicide but our source on ground informs us that after Keza’s body was discovered, the police mounted a search for Kikaawa but was nowhere to be found. To cool the already blown out incident, Kikaawa’s friends started the rumor that he could have committed suicide and unfortunately, it went viral.
He is said to have later turned himself in to police pleading insanity/depression and is currently in police custody where he is being questioned.
However, it has come to light that this could have been a pre meditated crime; Keza had on several occasions tried to leave him but his threats to harm her and their three year old daughter Holly had made her stay.
A few days before David took Keza’s life, she had told him she didn’t love him anymore and in a fit of anger, he had called a few friends and ranted about ‘how someone was going to die’ but he was never specific about who this comment was directed at.
Meanwhile Keza’s body was taken to Waltharustow Hospital where the postmortem is meant to be carried out.
WHO IS DAVID KIKAAWA?
Kikaawa was born 38 years ago. His ancestral home is in Butambala but was raised in Lungujja. Before relocating to UK, Kikaawa was a regular at Wilson Road.
He was lucky that life turned around when he went to London and he started living big. Many people have referred to Kikaawa and Keza as a down to earth version of our local socialites Ivan and Zari.
They lived a lavish lifestyle and threw several lavish parties at Club 791, which belongs to Kikaawa’s brother. The last of these parties, which was held in November, last year was dubbed ‘Special Winter Swag.”
Shockingly, Kikaawa’s friends describe him as a “friendly guy who had a heart for people.” More details to follow as this story unfolds.
The Ugandan community in the UK woke up to sad news after one of their own identified as David Kikaawa murdered his wife Linah Keza.
David is said to have killed Linah in the wee hours of the morning after he suspected that she could have been seeing someone else on the side.
David went into hiding after committing this gruesome offence and before they could even digest the news of Linah’s passing, his body was discovered in Club 791, which belongs to his brother. He apparently committed suicide after killing his wife.
The two were living in North London and have one child together. Our sources have informed us that David had on several occasions threatened to kill Linah if she did not stop cheating on him.
May the deceased’s’ souls Rest in Peace
