Miriam Makeba’s Tribute Concert will be held on August 10 from 11am on the Mary Fitzgerald Square in Johannesburg.
Artists such as Oliver Mtukudzi, Dorothy Masuka, Abigail Kubheka, Sibongile Khumalo, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Siphokazi, Deborah Fraser, Makeba’s Band, HHP and Guinea’s super drummer, Pap Kouyate, will entertain the crowds.
Makeba,who’s been hailed as one of the greatest african musicians, died on stage in November 2008 while performing in Italy.
