YANGA TO BE "CROWNED" CHAMPIONS TODAY !!!

Young Africans are set to clinch their 22nd league title when they take on Toto African at the CCM Kirumba Stadium, in one of the three Vodacom Premier League matches scheduled for today. Yanga have claimed the title record 21 times, followed by their archrivals, Simba Sports Club having walked away with it 16 times. And they are on the verge of escalating their record following an explicably run of form in the top flight football this season as the team spend at least 500m/- to put together its current squad. They have won fifteen out of their sixteen matches, losing once to Kagera Sugar. With only six matches to go, the Jangwani Street lads are on the driver's seat on 45 points, a massive 18-points gap to the second placed Simba, who along with Kagera Sugar are trailing far both with 27 points. Should they manage a draw against the Mwanza lads today, they will definitely open champagne and celebrate their 22nd title to mark a finest season ever. However, despite a close link between the two teams, nothing should be taken for granted by Yanga, as Toto will be inspired by the mere expectations that they can finish as high as second come end of the season, depending on how they will play their cards. Toto are currently fifth on the league table on 24 points after playing 16 games, they can jump to fourth position with a win today, and equal Simba’s point tally so far.
